AMM Core Courses
AMM 270- Visual Merchandising- This course was one of my favorite courses while I attended Cal Poly. This course was constructed of learning many visual elements such as conducting floor planning and learning how to grid on retail floors. We also learned how to make wall layouts on adobe illustrator and store inside and outside layouts. We also had a project where it was our job to construct the visual design for a new store, my group created the Nickelodeon store. The elements of this class were to learn all visual aspects and how to make your retail store look appealing to your customer's eye. This course taught me how important it is to create a stimulating and exciting store experience for your customers.
AMM 310-Design& Merchandising Strategies- This course was designed to teach us design and merchandising strategies while creating lines and technical drawings. On adobe illustrator we learned different design elements and how to construct outfits based on the body type of a person. As well we were taught hot to make inspiration boards and design lines based off that inspiration board. This course taught me the importance behind careful designing and how important it is to consider every consumer body and your products will fit on their body.
AMM 314- Apparel Technical Design- This course was designed to teach us how to create a tech pack for production uses. We learned how to create a tech pack using sizing, trimmings, technical designs, and packaging all to create a guide by guide step book for production uses. This course was important because it taught me all the little steps and planning involved in the production side of the industry.
AMM 380- Production I- This course was the first step in learning for me how to sew items from a sewing kit, to a coverup, to our final project which was a laptop case. This was a fun and exciting course and taught me a lot about how to carefully sew products and how much work this side of the industry takes.
AMM Support Courses
AMM 471/A- Apparel Wholesale- This course was one of favorite courses because, I got to see and learn the ways of conducting a sale to buyers and how the products get into the retail stores. This course taught us manners, skills, and we even learned and had to conduct our own sales presentation to a buyer to get real life experience.
AMM 496/A- Issues in Retail Management- This class was the last senior class I took which taught me how to look at every issue in retail from finance, to store environment, to handling your employees and much more. We had several projects in this class where we were given companies to find solutions for as well as giving us the opportunity to come up with new brands and how all companies can improve. This was an important class because, it taught me my senior year how to really manage a retail store and company and how to handle every situation possible that comes my way.

International Business Marketing Courses
IBM 302- Marketing Promotions- My minor is International Business Marketing which I had to take several classes in, but one of my favorite classes happen to be this one. We learned different marketing tactics and approaches for both strong companies and companies that are doing poorly. My teacher provided lots of hand on experience with several projects and lots of class discussions where we got to put our creativity to use.
